Former environment minister and Congress chief whip in Rajya Sabha Jairam Ramesh on Monday said the Ken and Betwa river linking project would destroy the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.
“The CMs of UP and MP have signed a pact today to link the Ken and Betwa rivers. This will all but destroy the Panna Tiger Reserve in MP, a success story in translocation and revival. I had suggested alternatives 10 years ago but alas,” said Ramesh after the Centre, UP and MP signed an MoU for India’s first river linking project.
