Fatehgarh Sahib, February 16
A delegation of SAD (A), led by the national youth president of the party, Iman Singh Mann, presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding the restoration of the Internet service at Fatehgarh Sahib.
Addressing mediapersons, Mann said that residents as well as offices here have been facing problems, and official work in the area has come to a standstill. He said the Central Government needs to cooperate with the farmers as their demands are legitimate and that the party is in support of the farmers. He demanded the Internet services be restored immediately.
The president of the District Bar Association, AS Dharni, said he has apprised the DC about the matter as the judicial work has taken a backseat due to the ban on Internet services. He added that the judicial system is online, and due to the Internet being unavailable, litigants had to face difficulty.
Routine work in offices, courts, banks, and other organisations came to a standstill because of the unavailability of Internet services at Fatehgarh Sahib. It impacted the residents as well as the devotees who had come to pay obeisance at the gurdwara here.
