New Delhi: Raising in Parliament the matter of how the 8th battalion of Sikh Regiment got excluded from documentary on 20 years to Kargil, Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Wednesday demanded an enquiry as to how this lapse took place. He sought action against those who took a decision. "The 8th Sikh is feeling hurt as they didn't figure in the 9-minute documentary made by the Army," said the MP, adding that the battalion had played key role in the capture of Tiger Hill. TNS

Authorities to hold e-auction of properties from Aug 1

Muktsar man attempts self-immolation

Muktsar: A man allegedly tried to immolate himself in Gidderbaha on Wednesday. Gurmeet Singh of Lambi Road was upset over waterlogging near his residence, sources said. They said rainwater from other areas was being drained out on Lambi Road and a wall of Gurmeet's house collapsed due to it. 548 clerks inducted into Public Works Department 

Chandigarh: The state Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads) on Wednesday inducted 548 clerks at an induction ceremony held at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Public Administration. Vijay Inder Singla, PWD Minister, said with the fresh induction, 90 per cent of the vacancies to the posts of clerks in the department had been filled. TNS
