Fireworks were witnessed at today’s Cabinet meeting as Deputy CM and Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa and Technical Education Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh were involved in heated exchanges over the posting of SSPs.
CM Charanjit Singh Channi and other ministers had to intervene, and the two ministers left the venue in a huff.
Soon after the listed agenda items were discussed and approved, officers were asked to leave the meeting rooms. The Home Minister said fingers were being raised at him over alleged wrongdoing in SSPs’ postings. When his Cabinet colleagues asked Randhawa about the source of the allegations, the Home Minister is learnt to have pointed the finger at Rana.
The Home Minister stood up from his chair in a fit of rage as his arguments with Rana intensified. The CM and other ministers joined Randhawa.
