Abohar: Malika Sharma (75), a veteran educationist, lost a weeklong battle with Covid on Saturday. She had received her first dose of vaccine in the second week of March and was waiting for the second dose when she turned symptomatic last week. She had been honoured on several occasions for her services in promoting Scouts and Guides, besides literary and cultural activities.

Trust offers free oxygen cylinders

Chandigarh: The Serve Humanity Serve God Charitable Trust (Ratwara) is offering free oxygen cylinders to residents of Mohali and adjoining areas who need supply during emergency. The group members are arranging oxygen supply from different sources, including industry, and also helping in installing services at houses. NGO sets up 125-bed isolation ward

Fatehgarh Sahib: Gurdarshan Singh Nabha Foundation, an NGO, has set up 125-bed isolation ward for level-II Covid patients free of cost at RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh. It is everyone’s duty of come forward to the aid of suffering humanity in this hour of crisis, said Amloh MLA Kaka Randeep Singh, who runs the foundation. He said the NGO would also distribute free ration to the needy on their doorstep.
