In a road rage case, Patiala police have booked two unidentified persons for allegedly attempting to murder a 37-year-old man -- by running him over -- late Saturday night.
As per police, Amandeep Singh along with his family was on way to 22 Number crossing from the Leela Bhawan area in his car. Near Happy Chicken Corner, the victim honked thrice to a car parked in a wrong manner that blocked the way. On this, the two persons came out of the car and started arguing with Singh. The siuation calmed down after sometime and Singh left the scene.
After a while, when he got off his car to withdraw cash from an ATM at 22 Number crossing, the accused in their car (HR-06T-6447) allegedly tried to run over him. The victim managed to escape, but got a fracture in his right leg. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
The police have booked the accused under Sections 283, 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Singh said he was travelling with his family when he honked and asked the accused to give a way to his car. “They were drinking, and started arguing with me when I confronted them. They had parked their car wrongly.”
