Nehal Wadhera clobbered a 143-ball 171 as Punjab Cricket Club (PCC) hammered RBI Mumbai by 142 runs in a JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament match at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali today.

Put in to bat, PCC buoyed by Wadhera’s knock made 337 for 9 in 50 overs. Sanvir Singh contributed 65 runs (off 62 balls) to the total.

For RBI Mumbai, Ankit Rajput (3/54) and Amit Mishra (3/67) took three wickets each.

Chasing a mammoth total, RBI Mumbai were all out for 196 runs in 36.5 overs.

Sanvir Singh was the pick of bowlers for PCC, claiming 5/20. Barinder Sran and Krishan Alang accounted for two wickets each.

Rajesh Bishnoi (44) was the top scorer for RBI Mumbai.

Wadhera was named man of the match for his effort.

Chhattisgarh beat UPCA

In the second match played at Maharaja Yadavindra Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chhattisgarh beat UPCA by nine wickets.

Chasing a revised target of 178 after a rain interruption, Chhattisgarh rode on Shashank’s unbeaten 103 to scamper home in 29.3 overs.

Ashutosh Singh remained unbeaten on 59.

Earlier, UPCA were bowled out for 206 in 48.3 overs with Adishesh Singh scoring an 84-ball 71. Ajay was the wrecker in chief for Chhattisgarh, claiming 5/33.

Shashank was awarded man of the match.

Players XI log 8-wicket win

Meanwhile, at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, Players XI Delhi registered an eight-wicket win over Bihar XI.

Opting to bat, Bihar XI were bowled out for 144 runs in 42.4 overs.

Akash made an unbeaten 36, while Babul Kumar contributed 33 runs to the total. Arjun, Manish Sherawat and Hrithik Shokeen scalped two wickets each.

In reply, Players XI reached home in 27 overs, with Dhruv Kaushik (49) and Vidhansh (41) making useful contributions to the chase. Jeevanjot Singh remained unbeaten on 38.

For Bihar XI, Shasheem (1/17) and Keshav Kumar (1/28) claimed a wicket each.
