Three arrested with ~6.22-lakh fake currency

The Mansa police claimed to have arrested three persons. The police said they seized Rs6.22 lakh fake currency from them along with one colour printer-cum-scanner and other material.

Mansa SSP Dr Narinder Bhargava said: “The Mansa police have arrested three persons, Pritam Singh (56) of Sunam, Charanjit Singh (55) of Daska in Sangrur and Dara Singh (37) of Khai village in Sangrur.

Senior Superintendent of Police said during patrolling at Nangal Kalan village, the Mansa (Sadar) police team got a tip-off that three persons had made a gang, which was involved in making fake currency notes. They used it in the market as well. The police have registered a case in this regard.

Later, a police party arrested two suspects, Pritam and Charanjit, on a motorcycle. Fake currency amounting to Rs2.50 was also seized from them, added the SSP. Then the police raided the house of Dara Singh and arrested him. Fake currency worth Rs8,500 was also seized. The suspects were present before the court and were taken on three-day police remand.
