Wellington: Two men in New Zealand and Spain have created an ‘Earth sandwich’ by placing slices of bread on precise points, either side of the planet, it was reported on Monday. The man behind the sandwich, Etienne Naude from Auckland, told the BBC that he wanted to make one for years, but had struggled to find someone in Spain, on the other side of the globe. Activist stopped from leaving Pak for ‘anti-state’ works
Lahore: A top Pakistani woman lawyer and human rights activist, supporting the minority Hazara community, was stopped from taking a UK flight and detained for hours at the airport here on Monday, citing her “anti-state activities”. Jalila Haider, who was listed as one of the 100 most inspiring and influential women across the world by the BBC last year, was to attend a conference on feminism organised by the University of Sussex.
