Social activist Mandeep Singh Manna has alleged that unauthorised construction is under way at the Maqbool road in the city.
In a communiqué to the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT), he stated that illegal construction was going on in connivance with some officials close to Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said the construction of the plot was being carried out on the houseline against rules. He demanded that the construction work should be stopped immediately. AIT officials said they would probe the matter. — TNS
