AMRITSAR: The body of a Batala-based man, Nishan Singh, was flown to the city from Saudi Arabia on Monday.

The body of a Batala-based man, Nishan Singh, was flown to the city from Saudi Arabia on Monday. Singh lost his life while transporting a chemical that fell on him accidently. Members of Helping Hapless, an NGO, which helped the family bring the body, were also present at the airport. Amanjit Kaur Ramoowalia, president of the NGO, informed that Nishan Singh was a native of Langarwal village in Batala. “He had been working in Saudi Arabia for the past three years as a truck driver. He died on April 7. His family contacted us for help in bringing his body.

He was the sole breadwinner for the family, having three sisters.
