AMRITSAR: Four youths in an SUV thrashed employees of a fuel station near Amandeep Hospital and also snatched cash from one of the staff members before fleeing late on Thursday evening.

Four youths in an SUV thrashed employees of a fuel station near Amandeep Hospital and also snatched cash from one of the staff members before fleeing late on Thursday evening. Taking a swift action, the police arrested them within half an hour, said ADCP Lakhbir Singh.

Those arrested were identified as Nitish, his namesake, Amandeep, and Sahil Wangle.

While giving information, the ADCP said the four came in an SUV and got the fuel filled in the vehicle. They had a verbal duel with employees over fuel price and thrashed them. According to the victims, the accused took their cash. It is yet to be ascertained how much cash they took away.

The petrol pump authorities informed the nearby Cantonment police station. Further investigation is under way, the ADCP added.
