Kulwinder Singh (45) of Gohalwar village was killed in a road accident near Balachak village on the Tarn Taran-Amritsar road on Saturday evening.
The city police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against an unknown vehicle driver.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Satpal said the deceased, Kulwinder Singh, was coming back from Amritsar to his village on motorcycle when an unknown vehicle hit him. He was brought to the local Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
