Two women among four booked on fraud charge

AMRITSAR: The police have booked four persons, including two women, for allegedly stealing and defrauding a family.

The police have booked four persons, including two women, for allegedly stealing and defrauding a family. They have been identified as Amandeep Kaur, Jyoti, Mandeep Singh and Rupi.

Complainant Gurdeep Kaur stated to the police that she had a marital dispute with her husband and had been living with her brother Avtar Singh for the past five years. She said Amandeep Kaur was her sister-in-law and wife of Avtar Singh.

She said Amandeep worked with an insurance company and knew about the account numbers of all family members. Gurdeep said she withdrew Rs34,500 from her account, Rs10 lakh from her brother Jagtar Singh’s account and Rs7 lakh from her nephew Jaswinder Singh’s account.

She alleged that the suspect left the house without informing anyone and that she also stole gold ornaments from the house. The police have registered a case in this regard.
