AMRITSAR: A case was registered under Section 224, IPC, at E Division police station against a local woman, who fled from custody of the Galiara Police Chowki early in the morning here today.

A case was registered under Section 224, IPC, at E Division police station against a local woman, who fled from custody of the Galiara Police Chowki early in the morning here today.

The woman, identified as Romi Kaur, a resident of Gadli village, was taken into custody last night as she was roaming aimlessly near the Golden Temple.

Investigation officer Narain Singh said, “The accused asked the only on duty constable, Sukhpreet Kaur, to take her to washroom. On way to the washroom, she pushed the constable on stairs and fled from chowki after scaling the wall.” — TNS
