Man arrested on molestation charge

A man has been arrested while two others booked for allegedly molesting a college student.

The victim told the police that Arshdeep Singh, a resident of Court road, Bathinda, came with his two friends in a car when she, along with her friend, was standing outside Penisula Mall.

The complainant said they were forcibly taken into the car by the accused, who tried to molest her. The complainant said the accused dropped her outside the house to insult her in front of her brother.

On the basis of her complaint, the police arrested Arshdeep from Dhobiana Basti. A case under Sections 354 and 354-D of the IPC has been registered against the accused.

In another case of molestation, the Bathinda Sadar police today booked a person under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act-2012.

The girl told the police that the accused saw her while she was taking bath.

The accused has been identified as Gora Singh, a resident of Diyon village. Investigating officer Rupinderpal Kaur said the accused would be arrested soon.
