The District Health Department conducted a meeting with officials of the Education Department ahead of National Deworming Day, on Friday.
The Health Department has issued directions to the Education Department to submit a list of students aged from 1-19 years, who would be provided Albendazole tablets to protect them from life-threatening worms.
Health Department officials said National Deworming Day would be observed on August 10 and children of government and private schools and anganwadis would be given these tablets. Civil Surgeon Dr Hari Narain Singh said, “It is a must for children aged 1-19 to take these tablets.”
