Accusing officials of not purchasing their wheat crop, some farmers under the leadership of former MLA Harpreet Singh staged a protest at the local grain market here on Tuesday.
The farmers said they were being harassed in the name of high moisture content in the grain.
Meanwhile, SDM Gopal Singh, along with officials of the Market Committee, assured them that procurement would start soon.
Some farmers at Bhagsar village too lodged a protest over the same reason.
