Coal India Q1 profit dips 23% to Rs 2,351 cr

New Delhi: State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) on Monday posted a 23 per cent decline in consolidated profit at Rs 2,351.20 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017, due to higher expenses. The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 3,065.2 crore in the year-ago period, CIL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. However, CIL’s consolidated income during the April-June quarter was at Rs 21,774.4 crore, registering an increase of 4.5 per cent. The production of the country’s largest coal miner was at 118.8 million tonnes (MT) in the first quarter of FY2017-18 against 125.6 MT in the same quarter of previous fiscal.

IDBI Bank reports Q1 loss at Rs 853 cr

Mumbai: State-owned IDBI Bank on Monday ran up a net loss of Rs 853 crore for the first quarter ended June, mainly hurt by higher provisioning against bad loans. It is the third straight quarter when the bank reported net loss. The bank had posted a profit of Rs 241.10 crore in April-June of 2016-17. Total income in the June quarter was Rs 6,730.88 crore, down from Rs 8,219.43 crore a year earlier, it said in a regulatory filing. Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) soared to Rs 50,173.20 crore, in the first quarter of 2017-18, from Rs 27,275.15 crore in the year-ago period.

SML Isuzu Q1 revenue Rs 357 cr

Chandigarh: Commercial vehicle maker SML Isuzu Limited has posted revenue of Rs 357.98 crore (on a sale volume of 3,140) for the quarter ended June 30, 2017, due to a drop in sale volume. It had posted a revenue of Rs 516.10 crore (sale volume 4,893) in the year-ago period.
