chandigarh: Around 30 passengers in a Volvo bus had a narrow escape as the vehicle caught fire near the Sector 20 gurdwara rotary on Dakshin Marg here late on Saturday evening. Passersby saw smoke billowing out of the engine of the bus and alerted the driver. The bus was brought to a halt and passengers were rescued. A fire tender was rushed to the spot, which doused the flames. —TNS
