The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) today claimed to have got the possession of Tau Devi Lal Bhawan at Sector 8 in Ambala City where the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) had been running its office for the past several years.

After split in the party, leaders of the JJP and the INLD had come face to face over the possession of the property on February 7 this year following which a case was pending at the SDM court in Ambala City.

As per the information, the court had given the decision on December 6 and the JJP leaders got keys of the office today. It was locked by the police after leaders of both the parties came face to face in February.

The state JJP spokesperson, Vivek Choudhery, said in 2010, his father had got the property registered in the name of Jagbir Singh, a loyalist of the then INLD leader, Ajay Chautala. The property was being used as party office by the INLD, he added. However, mutation of the property was not done, he said.

Leaders of the INLD had claimed that the office was constructed by the party after collecting funds from workers. Its possession was with the INLD. After the split, Vivek left the INLD and joined the JJP. He along with other JJP leaders had sought possession for the property.

“The SDM court has given its decision in our favour. Now, the JJP will run its party office from this building. The name of the building will remain same. The building was locked since February and we have got its keys today,” said Vivek.

While the INLD district chief, Sheeshpal Jandheri, couldn’t be contacted, other party leaders in Ambala denied to have information about the development.
