Minor alleges rape by member of school board

PATIALA:The district administration is probing a matter of alleged rape of a minor girl by a member of the board of the local school, in which she studies.

Patiala, April 22

The district administration is probing a matter of alleged rape of a minor girl by a member of the board of the local school, in which she studies. The suspect also happens to be a local leader.

An internal probe based on an anonymous letter sent by the girl student to the district administration is currently progressing at a snail’s pace.

The district administration has a organised camp at the school after receiving the letter. As per complaint, the victim was repeatedly raped by a particular board member of her school in connivance with a senior teacher on the institution premises.

The victim alleged that a senior school teacher used to take her to the board member, who raped her and also asked her to bring her other friends, said Harpreet Kaur, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO).

“The administration received a letter in first week of April. We have held an awareness camp on bad-touch-good-touch for girl students at the school along with police officials. Till now, the allegations have not been proved. So, we will hold another camp to identify the girl and probe the matter,” said the DCPO. — TNS
