Sonia adjudged best athlete, claims three gold

CHANDIGARH:Sonia was adjudged best athlete during the 36 Annual Athletics Meet of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, on Wednesday.

Sonia was adjudged best athlete during the 36 Annual Athletics Meet of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, on Wednesday. 

She won a gold medal each in the shot put, discus throw and 3km events. Nikita and Monia claimed second and third position, respectively, in both shot put and discus throw events. Sonu won javelin throw gold, followed by Sonia and Monia, while Amanpreet Kaur won the long jump gold followed by Ramandeep Kaur at second position and Laxmi at third.  

In high jump, Anchal Kalia, Nisha and Rajni claimed the top three positions, respectively, while in 100m sprint Ramandeep Kaur, Sumanjeet Kaur and Monia won top three honours, respectively. Rajwinder Kaur won 200m gold while Avtar Kaur claimed silver and Meenakshi won bronze. 

Harmanpreet Kaur won the 400m gold, while Manpreet Kaur finished second and Dolly Raj third. In 800m, Harmanpreet, Amanpreet and Rajwinder won top three positions, respectively. In 3km walk, Sonia, Dolly and Pooja won the top positions, respectively. Manpreet Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Sumanjeet Kaur and Avtar Kaur won the 4x200m event.
