Redress car dealers’ grievances

The Chandigarh Car Dealers’ Association has protested many a time and has been demanding that the Municipal Corporation allot them a suitable place to run the second-hand car business. This Sunday, the car bazaar could not function at the allotted space in Hallo Majra. The dealers have requested the MC to shift the site many times but the authorities failed to address their grievances. Due to it, their business has been hit. The dealers have suggested three places— near Taj Hotel, circus ground and opposite the Panchkula light point in Mani Majra. The city MP should call MC officials and representatives of car dealers to solve the problem.

Ill-prepared to tackle monsoon 

Monsoon has arrived but the authorities seem ill-equipped to tackle challenges posed by it. Despite several online complaints, no action has been taken to remove debris and garbage deposited in road gullies and manholes in the Industrial Area. Heaps of garbage and wild growth can be seen all over the tricity. Sweepers are not being monitored. No permanent solution has been provided to check waterlogging. The authorities concerned should be held accountable for this sorry state of affairs.

Ensure cleanliness at GMCH-32

The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, needs to pay attention to cleanliness. Patient wards need air-conditioners. Ceiling and exhaust fans are inadequate to beat the heat. In toilets, cigarette butts can be seen deposited. This problem can be solved by installing smoke detectors. In one of the toilets, the lid of the water tank was missing and plastic bottles were seen dumped in it. At the hospital waiting room, dustbin was missing. People throw plastic bottles and wrappers in galleries. The area near the elevators needs proper lighting.

Long wait for DLs at Kharar SDM office 

I have been trying to get a learner’s driving licence from the Kharar SDM office for the past two months. I had submitted the required fee and had undergone the driving test in May. The primary reason for this is that I did not forward my file through an “agent”. I do not have any contact at the office, who could forward my case for approval. In these two months, I have visited the office more than 20 times. I am not the only one facing this problem. There are some people who are facing the problem for the past six months.
