Patiala, May 21

Members of the SC/BC Teachers’ Union levelled allegations of harassing them against Bhadson-2 Block Primary Education Officer (BPEO) and demanded his transfer from the block.

In a meeting with District Education Officer (DEO primary) Balwinder Singh Aulakh, the teachers said the officer was regularly harassing them over various issues and also defying the orders of the higher authorities of the department.

They said as per the norms of the department, the teacher should prepare the ACRs. But in the session 2015-16, the Block Primary Education Officer, instead of giving comments in this regard, herself prepared the reports.

The members of the union said they were also being harassed over the issuance of salary statements as they keep waiting for long period to get the same.

They urged the District Education Officer to initiate strict action against the official.

The teachers demanded that the department should also release the list of vacancies of head teachers in schools of the district.

Lachhman Singh Nabipur, district president of the union, said officials of the department had assured them of appropriate action in the matter.

He said they had also thanked the officials for resolving their pending issues. However, despite several attempts, District Education Officer (primary) could not be contacted.
