Thieves flee with batteries of two cars parked in Sector15

CHANDIGARH:In yet another incident of battery theft, two cars were targeted in Sector 15 here on Tuesday night.

Chandigarh, June 13 

In yet another incident of battery theft, two cars were targeted in Sector 15 here on Tuesday night. This is the fourth incident reported in the last eight days and total 12 car batteries have been stolen.

Sources said the theft came to light in the morning, following which the police were informed. 

Inspector Lakhbir Singh, SHO, Sector 11 police station, confirmed that they had got the information about the battery theft. However, nobody lodged a complaint, he added.

Police sources said there was some gang behind these incidents of battery thefts in the city. 

On June 7, some unknown person had stolen batteries from three cars parked outside a house in Sector 8. Battery thefts were reported from Sector 20 on the night intervening June 5 and 6. Miscreants had stolen five batteries from cars parked outside houses and also stole a Honda City car. Unknown miscreants had stolen batteries from two cars parked outside a house in Sector 8 on June 5.
