An unidentified man died after he fell off from the terrace of a sealed pub located in Hauz Khas Village yesterday, said a police official.
The man was found lying in a pool of blood. The pub called Village Deck was shut since October as part of the sealing drive of the MCD.
The locals present at the time of the incident said they heard a loud noise when the man fell off the building. “Within few seconds, a crowd assembled at the place and found a man lying on the pool of blood”.
“We have found a wallet from his pocket containing cash. There was no identity card found from the man.”
According to DCP Romil Banniya, “The man was admitted to Safdurjung Hospital were doctors declared him brought dead. CCTV camera footages from nearby buildings have been taken. It was found that he went to the terrace in the noon and fell off from there.”
“No person was present on terrace. From the inquiry conducted so far no foul play has come on record. Efforts are being made to establish the identity of the man. The body has been preserved for 72 hours for identification,” the DCP added.
The police suspect that he might have gone to the top of the building to inject drugs. The police have also recovered some injections from the pocket of the man and from the top of the building.
