NEW DELHI:In view of forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Sanjay Singh, Joint Commissioner and Northern Range reviewed security arrangements of the industrial areas falling in the jurisdiction of Rohini and North-West Districts.

In view of forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Sanjay Singh, Joint Commissioner and Northern Range reviewed security arrangements of the industrial areas falling in the jurisdiction of Rohini and North-West Districts.

A meeting with the members of Industrial Area Associations Narela, Bawana, Samey Pur Badli, Wazir Pur Industrial Area, Rajesthan Udyog Nagar, Lawrence Road, Industrial area and Shakti Nagar Industrial Area, GT Karnal Road was held at sector 18, Rohini, today.

Members of the associations were sensitized about the security issues and told to be proactive to support the police. Several security related issues like installation of CCTV cameras, barricading, establishment of police assistance booths and pickets, and deployments of private security guards, electrification of dark stretches were reviewed and shortcomings were shortlisted.

As a result of regular interaction and coordination, the associations of industrial areas got successfully installed 524 CCTV cameras, 127 barricades while 235 security guards were hired, 45 streetlights repaired and 18 police pickets set up in the industrial areas.

Joint CP NR emphasised the use of digital transactions instead of carrying huge amount as it would prevent incidents of snatching and robbery. He also stressed verification of workers before employing them. Those who provide residential facilities on the premises should ensure that no stranger is allowed to stay without their knowledge. Proper maintenance of CCTV cameras was underlined.

The members were assured that patrolling would be intensified and adequate number of police personnel would be deployed to curb the illegal activities pointed out by them. The ACPs of the area along with traffic personnel would visit during peak hours and take necessary action to check illegal parking in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic. All ACPs and SHOs were directed to get the shortcomings rectified in coordination with the Industrial Area Welfare Associations in a timebound manner, said Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, DCP North West District
