The beautiful model-turned-actor Ekta Kaul, who was last seen in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, is now a part of Star Plus’ family show Mere Angne Mein. The vivacious Ekta Kaul shares excerpts from her journey so far.

How is the show Mere Angne Mein different from other shows?

The show is different because it deals with day-to-day life issues and conflict of perspectives on those issues. It focuses on how in life one should have fun, learn from their mistakes and grow every day.

What similarity do you draw between your character, Riya Srivastav, on screen and yourself in real life?

Riya and Ekta are quite similar. I love to talk and take things out too like my reel character. I do not like keeping things to my heart; I just speak up whenever necessary. This trait is evidently common in my reel and real-life characters. I take life as it comes.

You are a travel and bike freak. When did this start?

I am very passionate about bikes and cars. As a kid too I used to keep asking my cousins to take me for a ride and teach me how to ride a bike. And about travelling, I belong to one of the prettiest places in India — Jammu. Travelling gets me closer to myself; helps me feel lighter and better.

What is your criterion for signing a show?

The most important factor is the content; then of course the production house and the star cast.
