2 cops among 3 booked for rape

CHANDIGARH: Three persons, including two cops, have been booked for rape and criminal intimidation in Fatehabad. A case has been registered on the basis of victim’s complaint who alleged that Som Dutt, a head constable posted at Sirsa, developed physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage.

Three persons, including two cops, have been booked for rape and criminal intimidation in Fatehabad.

A case has been registered on the basis of victim’s complaint who alleged that Som Dutt, a head constable posted at Sirsa, developed physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage. The victim also alleged that Prahlad, a cop posted at Fatehabad, and his brother Bansi threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone.

OP Narwal, SP, Fatehabad, said preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was living with Som Dutt, a married person, with her consent for past several months. He said both Prahlad and Bansi were Som Dutt’s bothers-in-law and had gone to the woman’s house with several other local elders.

He said further investigations were in progress.
