Chandigarh, July 26

The first batch of UT police inspectors today appeared in the two-hour long online test conducted to check their competence and knowledge, at the Police Lines in Sector 26.

The two-hour exam consisted of 100 objective type questions that related to the IPC, CrPC, POCSO Act and the Indian Evidence Act, to name a few.

An inspector who took the test said questions related to police functioning were also asked. “After answering one question, the next one used to appear on the computer screen,” the inspector said.

It is for the first time that the Chandigarh Police have taken such an initiative to check the knowledge and calibre of the inspector-rank officers. An inspector who appeared in the test said the questions asked in the test helped in brushing up his knowledge. The second batch of inspectors will appear in the test on Wednesday. The results of the test will be declared after all batches have appeared in the exam. Sources said the results of the test would be taken into consideration while transferring and posting them to various posts.
