Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav on Wednesday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that at one time had emerged in Punjab as a force to reckon with was fast declining and would go the People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) way.

Addressing a press conference here, Yadav said that at one point the AAP seemed to be running away with the show in the state, but with the changing political scenario things had changed for the party and it was undergoing a steep decline. He said he was not sure where the decline would stop.

He said that after the initial euphoria was over, people were going back to supporting traditional parties like the Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP and Congress.

He said they as a third front intended to fill in the space being vacated by the AAP.

Talking about AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, he said it is good to be ambitious, but one should try to bring in a positive change rather than hanker after petty posts.

About the former Punjab AAP convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Yadav said he had never earlier heard of any financial impropriety against him; and if it was so, the truth should be brought out into the public domain.
