The Law Enforcement Agency of the Agriculture Department has intensified its drive to check the menace of distribution of unauthorised, spurious and misbranded pesticides and to control the black marketing of fertilisers in the Valley. The agency today raided various godowns of dealers of pesticides and fertilisers in Kulgam, Pulwama and Baramulla.
During the drive, the Law Enforcement Inspector, Pulwama, booked Qureshee Agro Chemicals, Shadimarg, Pulwama; Manzoor Ahmad Dar of Drubgam and Mushtaq Enterprises, Noorpora Tral, of Pulwama district, for carrying out their business in contravention of the Insecticides Act, 1968. They were stopped from selling a huge quantity of pesticides.
Law Enforcement Inspector, Kulgam, also booked many pesticide dealers based in Kulgam for running their business in contravention of the Insecticides Act.
The Law Enforcement Inspector, Baramulla, recommended suspension of insecticides license of Parrey Agro Chemicals, Hygam; Malik Pesticides, Warpora, Sopore; Zahoor Pesticides, Dangiwachi; Dar Pesticides; Prop Parveez Ahmad Dar R/o Sopore; Bashir Ahmad Lone, Dangiwachi and Zahoor Pesticides, Watergam.
Deputy Director Law Enforcement, Kashmir, advised orchardists and farmers to ask for a cash memo from the dealers while purchasing pesticides, fertilisers and seeds.
