The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has reportedly declined further one-year extension to UT SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill, a 2003-batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre.

The Chandigarh Administration had sought an extension for Gill earlier this year. Sources said Gill would soon leave the charge of the SSP, Chandigarh.

Gill had joined as the Chandigarh SSP on December 11, 2013. He remained a non-controversial officer during his three-year stint in Chandigarh.
