There were 24 ATM thefts in the state in the last two years. In these, 24 ATMs of six banks were broken and Rs 1,79,16,500 was stolen. The police arrested 22 persons and recovered Rs 16,35,700 from them. The information was tabled in the House in response to a question raised by BJP MLA Satpal Satti.
In response to a question from Congress MLA from Lahaul and Spiti Ravi Thakur, Power Minister Sujan Singh Pathania informed the House that the Rongtong Hydropower Project in Lahaul-Spiti district was shutdown for carrying out renovation.
The replacement of the damaged material and equipment of two units had been arranged and brought to the site by the contractor.
Efforts were being made to re-commission one unit by December 15 and the remaining three units during the next working season after May, 2016, the minister said.
In response to a question from BJP MLA from Chamba BK Chauhan, Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur said there were 2,669 health institutions in the state.
Of it, 2067 are health sub-centres, 516 primary health centres (PHCs) , 74 community health centres (CHCs), 9 Regional Hospitals and three Zonal Hospitals.
The minister said the sanctioned strength of Medical Officers was 1,404 of which 333 were lying vacant.
