Senior citizen attacked, gets 55 stitches

CHANDIGARH:A senior citizen was seriously injured after a few persons entered his house in Sector 15 and attacked him with sharp weapons last evening.



Chandigarh, July 22 

A senior citizen was seriously injured after a few persons entered his house in Sector 15 and attacked him with sharp weapons last evening.

Sources said the victim, Jung Bahadur, a retired Air Force Officer, was alone at home when the assailants attacked him and fled. The victim informed the police, who rushed him to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.  The victim got 55 stitches on his head. The police have registered a DDR (daily diary report) in the matter at the Sector 11 police station.  The sources said a case would be registered after recording the statement of the victim, who was not in a condition to do so. The victim’s family alleged that they had a property dispute and suspected that the attack was  due to that dispute.— TNS
