Sheep, goats perish in cloudburst

Fifteen sheep and goats were perished due to cloudburst which occurred in some hamlets falling under Gehra-Piyuhra patwar circle of Chamba subdivision of the district last week.

In an official communiqué here today, Chamba SDM Bachan Singh said two houses had also been collapsed in the cloudburst.

Besides, about 140 bighas of agricultural land in these patwar circles had been damaged and gullies had come up in these tracts of land, the SDM said.

The SDM said the loss had been put at Rs 12 lakh, adding that relief would be provided to the affected families as per the relief manual.
