Swine flu case reported in Hoshiarpur

HOSHIARPUR: A local resident was today tested positive for swine flu at the PGI, Chandigarh.

Hoshiarpur, February 7

A local resident was today tested positive for swine flu at the PGI, Chandigarh. The patient, Rajwinder Kaur of Bassi Daulat Khan, was admitted to a private hospital from where she was referred to the PGI.

Another suspected swine flu patient was admitted to Civil Hospital today.

The patient, Kiranjeet Kaur from Dhadial village near Tanda, is suffering from fever and other swine flu-related symptoms.

She was under treatment at a local private hospital for the past few days. Later, she was referred to the Civil Hospital.

Doctors attending to her said Kiranjeet’s swab samples would be sent to the PGI, Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, officials of the Health Department said they were geared up to tackle the situation.

A special ward had been set up for suspected patients at the local Civil Hospital headed by district epidemiologist Dr Shailesh Kumar.
