Children of Sai Sanskar School, Vivek Vihar, were today apprised about the Indian freedom movement and freedom fighters who paved the way for independence 69 years ago. A fancy dress competition, based on the theme of Independence, was also organised in which more than 30 students took part.

School principal Sapna Arora said for more than 100 years, India remained under British rule which had initially arrived as traders through the East India Company but later annexed the whole of India.

Sapna said the icons gave up their whole life for the motherland and led masses to fight against the Britishers.

School manager Pankaj Arora stressed on the need of appraising the younger generation about the sacrifices people made during the independence movement so that they value the freedom.

In the fancy dress competition for nursery section, the first prize was awarded to Kirti Arora, second prize was jointly given to Dhairya Goyal and Vivaan Chaurasia and third prize went to Samaira and Jai Kant.
