A truck driver was injured when some unidentified persons lobbed a petrol bomb in the Baramulla town this evening.
The police here said that “some miscreants in order to impose shutdown call” lobbed a petrol bomb on a moving truck near Khanpora. The driver, Irshad Ahmad Mir from Boniyar area, got injured in the incident and was shifted to the SMHS Hospital here. A case under sections of attempt to murder was registered and a manhunt launched to nab those involved in the incident.
School building gutted
In another incident, the building of Government Middle School in the Saderkote Bala area of Bandipore district went up in flames around 9 pm this evening. The cause of fire was not immediately known while the fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

Moderate separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was on Mondayshifted to his Nigeen residence from the Cheshma Shahi sub-jail, Hurriyat Conference spokesman Shahid-ul-Islam said.
15 arrested for setting ablaze vehicles
Srinagar: The J&K Police on Monday claimed to have arrested 15 of the 22 miscreants allegedly involved in setting ablaze 13 vehicles in Srinagar and Budgam districts in the past three months of unrest. The information was given by DIG of Police, Central Kashmir range, Ghulam Hassan Bhat and the SSP, Srinagar, while addressing mediapersons here. The DIG said a constant vigil was being kept to maintain peace and avoid any untoward incidents. — TNS
