Ambala woman, daughter take ‘wrong’ medicine, die

AMBALA: A 33-year-old woman and her nine-year-old daughter died after the woman allegedly mistakenly consumed some poisonous substance at her house and also administered the same to her children Monday night.

A 33-year-old woman and her nine-year-old daughter died after the woman allegedly mistakenly consumed some poisonous substance at her house and also administered the same to her children Monday night. The deceased’s five-year-old son, Abhijaot, is undergoing treatment at MMU Mullana.

The deceased include Manjeet Kaur of Kambasi village of Barara and her daughter Simranjeet. The woman and her children were reportedly suffering from fever and the woman allegedly mistakenly consumed wrong tablets and administered the same to her children following which their health deteriorated. They were taken to private hospitals.

Barara SHO Yashdeep said, “The woman in her statement had said that they were suffering from fever and she consumed and administered to her children wrong medicine. While Simranjeet died early Tuesday, Manjeet Kaur died later in the evening. The bodies have been handed over to family.” — TNS
