Cops stop teenager’s cremation

A teenager who turned 18 yesterday died under mysterious circumstances in Sector 9 here today. Suspecting foul play , the police stopped the girl’s cremation and took the body into custody.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, said Jaswinder Singh of Sector 9 police post.

As per the victim’s family, she had consumed a poisonous substance. They took her to hospital where she was declared dead, the police officer asserted.

A BA-II student at DAV College, she celebrated her 18th birthday yesterday.
