Aman, an inmate of the district jail here, threw piping hot oil on another inmate Ajit on Saturday afternoon. Both are serving life imprisonment in murder cases. Ajit, a resident of Panipat, was taken to the KCGMCH where doctors referred him to the PGI, Chandigarh. His condition is said to be critical.
Sanjay Bangar, Deputy Jail Superintendent, said that Aman, a resident of Panipat, had a brawl with Ajit a few days ago and angry at the incident he threw piping hot oil on Ajit in the jail. Both were in the same barrack.
“We are waiting for Ajit’s statement, and accordingly an FIR will be registered. If Ajit does not submit a complaint, the jail police will get a case registered against Aman,” he added. — TNS
