BJP top leaders, cinestars to spice up election spectacle

CHANDIGARH: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) top guns, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and cinestars Hema Malini and Sunny Deol, will spice up the party’s election campaign in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) top guns, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and cinestars Hema Malini and Sunny Deol, will spice up the party’s election campaign in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.

The party on Tuesday released the list of 40 star campaigners. Union ministers who would woo the voters ahead of the parliamentary elections include Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Birender Singh, VK Singh, Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar.

Other senior Central leaders in the star campaigners’ list include Uma Bharti, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Ram Lal, Satpal Maharaj, Manoj Tewari, Anil Jain, Kalraj Mishra and Vishwas Sarang.

Besides Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia have been named in the list, which is being forwarded to the Haryana chief electoral officer. Besides, Haryana ministers, including Ram Bilas Sharma, Capt Abhimanyu, Anil Vij, Vipul Goel, Kavita Jain, OP Dhankar, Rao Narbir Singh and Krishan Lal, would also take an active part in the election campaign.

State BJP president Subhash Barala said here on Tuesday that the final programme of various leaders was being chalked out so that the BJP could improve its performance.

However, sources said senior leaders, including Modi and Shah, were likely to hit the campaign trail in the first week of May.

Among the state leaders on the list are BJP chief Subhash Barala, Sandeep Joshi and Ved Pal.
