KARNAL: Upset over low score in class 12 examinations, a 17-year-old boy reportedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

Upset over low score in class 12 examinations, a 17-year-old boy reportedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. 

The boy has been identified as Dipanshu, a resident of Shaktipuram. None of his family members was at home when the incident occurred.

Lakhbir Singh, ASI and in-charge of Sector-9 police post, said the family members told in a complaint that Dipanshu was upset over the low score in the class 12 examinations, the result of which was declared on Saturday.

Finding Dipanshu unconscious, the family rushed him to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead.

He was a commerce student in Shri Krishna Parnami Senior Secondary School, Model Town. Principal Seema Chopra said Dipanshu had failed in commerce. However, the family members refused to talk on the matter.
