SHIMLA: As many as 1,82,890 Forms 6 (application for inclusion of name in electoral rolls after draft publication of draft rolls) have been received for enrolment.

As many as 1,82,890 Forms 6 (application for inclusion of name in electoral rolls after draft publication of draft rolls) have been received for enrolment. April 19 was the last date, Additional Chief Electoral Officer DK Rattan stated this here today.

The forms will be disposed of by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) by April 29 and applicants, whose forms will be accepted by the EROs, will be eligible to cast their vote on May 19.

Around 69 forms for enrolment have also been received from the overseas citizens, which will also be processed and decided by April 29. “As many as 15,803 forms for deletion received before the date of announcement of elections (March 10) have already been decided,” he added.

Rattan said after a special summary revision, the final publication of electoral rolls was made on January 21, 2019, and at that time, 50,96,869 voters were registered, including 25,84,183 men, 25,12,627 women and 59 third gender.

At the time of final publication, the number of first-time voters was 88,127, which has now increased to 1,33,083.

The number will further increase when forms received will be decided and disposed of by the EROs.
