Authorities have been on alert after two persons tested positive for swine flu in Mandi. One of them has been admitted to the Zonal Hospital, Mandi.
Confirming the report, district health officer, Mandi, Joginder Singh Thakur said two persons tested positive for swine flu and they had been put under observation.
“A 39-year-old man was undergoing treatment at the Zonal Hospital, Mandi, while a 33-year-old woman was sent home after treatment,” he added. He said medicines had been procured in each block of the district and the health authorities were monitoring the situation.
District health officer, Kullu, Sushil Chander said the authorities were ready to handle the situation and bock medical officers had been asked to monitor the situation. He said there was no need to panic, adding people should maintain hygiene. He said if anyone gets symptoms like fever, cough and throat pain for more than three days, they should immediately get themselves checked at the nearby hospital to get timely treatment.
