Chamba suffers Rs 204.81 crore loss during monsoon

CHAMBA: During the monsoon season, a loss of nearly Rs 204.81 crore has been reported to public and private properties by rain and flash floods across Chamba district.

During the monsoon season, a loss of nearly Rs 204.81 crore has been reported to public and private properties by rain and flash floods across Chamba district. In an official communiqué issued here on Thursday, Harikesh Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Chamba, said from time to time, the detailed loss report had been assessed and compiled by the officials and submitted to the state government.

Meena said the damage of Rs117.30 crore had been caused to the PWD roads, Rs 31.15 crore to the national highways, Rs 15.68 crore to the irrigation and water supply schemes and Rs 16.63 crore to crops, besides damages caused to several other government departments.
