Major shake-up: SPs shifted in 8 dists

SHIMLA: In a major police reshuffle, the government today changed SPs of eight police districts, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Hamirpur, Kullu, Una, Lahaul-Spiti and Baddi.

In a major police reshuffle, the government today changed SPs of eight police districts, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Hamirpur, Kullu, Una, Lahaul-Spiti and Baddi.

Ramesh Chajjta, SP in the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SVACB), will now be the SP of Kangra in place of Sanjeev Gandhi who will join as SP, Baddi, on August 1. Baddi SP BS Chauhan is due to retire on July 31.

Nine IPS and four Himachal Police Service (HPS) officers were transferred today. SPs of three districts of Shimla, Sirmour and Kinnaur had been transferred earlier this week.

Ashok Kumar, SP (Crime) at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), will swap place with SP, Mandi, Prem Thakur. Anupam Sharma, SP, Una, has been posted as Commandant, Home Guards, Hamirpur. Mohit Chauhan, serving as SP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, in Shimla has been posted as SP, Solan, in place of Anjum Ara, who has been posted as SP (Crime), Shimla.

Shubra Tiwari has been posted as AIG (Headquarters). Raman Kumar Meena, SP, Lahaul-Spiti has been posted as SP, Hamirpur. Shalini Agnihotri, Commandant, HP Armed Police at Junga and SP, Narcotics Control Bureau, has been posted as SP, Kullu.

Gaurav Singh, ASP, Kangra, has been posted as SP, Lahaul Spiti. Ajay Bodh, SP, Hamirpur, has been posted as SP Una. Padam Chand, SP, Kullu, has been posted as Commandant, HP Armed Police, at Junga.
