Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Rajiv Saizal today said efforts would be made to ensure a regular supply of drinking water to Kasauli and its surrounding areas.

He said bottlenecks in implementing the ambitious Kalujhinda potable water scheme would be removed

The minister was addressing a gathering during his first visit to the town after assuming charge as a minister.

He said the town would be linked to subsidised air services soon, which would give a new impetus to the tourism sector.

He added that the cantonment town had been included in the Prime Minister's ambitious UDAN scheme.

He said infrastructure in the town would be upgraded in coordination with the defence authorities. The minister urged the people to extend all support in maintaining the pristine and green structure of the area.

Later, the minister listened to public grievances at Dharampur and directed officials to redress them at the earliest.
